Baby Mizuna (not quite in focus)

Baby Mizuna (not quite in focus)

I started a lot of mizuna about a month ago. I’ve gradually been transplanting it to other parts of my garden, but I’ve still got more than I can handle. Mizuna, for the uninitiated, is a fabulous Japanese salad green. It’s actually a really mild mustard. One of the nice things about it is that it doesn’t get too bitter when it begins to bolt. For the uninitiated, bolting is when a plant sends up a central flowering shoot. Most plants, especially lettuces, get kinda bitter when they bolt.

If anyone would like some baby mizuna, let me know and I can give you a few.  I’ve also got a little extra arrugula and broccoli.
